"Candle Stand" Crochet Pattern
"Candle Stand" Crochet Pattern
This design is specially created for LED tealights only.
Please avoid using real candles, flame-based light sources, or any heat-producing light sources. Misuse may pose a fire hazard, so exercise caution.
I’ve crocheted a candle stand that makes a perfect decoration for Christmas, New Year, or as a cozy accent for your winter home.
This pattern includes instructions for two types of candles (large and small) and decorative leaves.
The small candle is designed to perfectly fit an LED tealight with a diameter of 3.8 cm, while the large candle has a slightly looser fit.
Although there isn’t much difference in height between the two, the sizes mainly vary in width. The height of the candle portion can be easily adjusted, so feel free to customize it to your liking!
For the sample piece, I used Motohiro's "Mini Sports Melange Worsted" yarn.
All the colors have a lovely texture, and the worsted yarn was an ideal choice. The black color, with its subtle melange effect, didn’t feel overly heavy and worked beautifully.
I used this yarn for all parts of the project, and everything was completed with less than one ball! I’ve added a link to the yarn at the bottom of the page.
To maintain the shape of the stand, I recommend using Techno Rote wire. You’ll only need about 40 cm, so if you have some spare wire at home, it’s a great way to use it.
For the decorative leaves, you’ll need to use a steam iron, hovering it above the crochet fabric to relax and shape it. I wanted to let you know this in advance.
The main stitch used in this pattern is the single crochet, making it a relatively quick item to complete. Once you start, you might find yourself so engrossed that you won’t want to put it down until it’s finished!
While the pattern includes some back loop-only stitches and front loop-only stitches, I rated its difficulty slightly lower than "basic techniques only," as no particularly complicated methods are involved.
When starting the candle portion, be sure to check that your LED tealight fits snugly in the crochet fabric as you work.
Enjoy a warm, cozy light and have a wonderful winter!
